20 Tips and Tricks to Prepare for Your Boudoir Photography Session

1. Accessorize

Accessories play a crucial role! They can effortlessly transform your outfit and adapt it to different backgrounds. With my experience, I’ve come across various accessory ideas, including jewelry, scarves, stilettos, stockings, and garter belts. Feel free to bring any jewelry you’d like to wear, and I can assist you in selecting pieces that complement your outfit.

2. Hands

Your hands can be incredibly sensual in a boudoir photoshoot, so it’s important to ensure they look their best. A manicure is a must; if you don’t wear nail polish, I recommend having at least a clear coat or a neutral shade on your nails for that extra touch of elegance.

 

3. Hair & Makeup

Opt for the complementary professional hair and makeup services. Professional makeup can truly make a significant difference, providing that extra polished appearance that looks fantastic on camera. And adds to the fun of the day!  Its a great tips for your luxury boudoir photography session!

4. Skin

Remember to moisturize your knees and elbows on the morning of your session (or right before you arrive) to achieve a fresh and radiant skin appearance!

This is a significant investment in a special experience, so savour every moment! Let go of any negative thoughts or self-perceived imperfections. Trust that you look incredible, and the rest is in my capable hands. I’ll set the mood with some music, enjoy a drink, and create beautiful portraits together!

6. Choose the Right Outfits

Select outfits that make you feel confident and sexy. Lingerie is always a great choice, but don’t be afraid to bring other items like your your husband’s shirt or tie, or an oversized sweater. The key is to wear something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself.  However, I also have a client closet available for your use.

 

7. Hydrate

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Hydrated skin looks healthier and more radiant, and you’ll feel more energized and refreshed.  This is a very important tips for your luxury boudoir photography session!

 

8. Get Plenty of Rest

Make sure to get a good night’s sleep before your shoot. Being well-rested will help you look and feel your best, with bright eyes and a fresh complexion.

Considering a spray tan before your boudoir session can be a fantastic way to enhance your natural glow and even out your skin tone. A subtle tan can add a healthy, radiant look to your photos, making your skin appear smoother and more vibrant. If you decide to get a spray tan, do it a couple of days before your session to ensure it has time to settle and look natural. Remember to choose a shade that complements your natural skin tone and avoid any last-minute tanning to prevent streaks or uneven colouring. This little touch can make a big difference in how you feel and look in your photos!
